Best UK Comedy Podcasts 2026: Ranked by Real Chart Data
Updated October 2026 · Based on CastFox data covering 25 Apple Podcasts chart snapshots in 78 countries (2026-02-24 to 2026-10-03) and 5M+ indexed podcasts
Search for the best comedy podcasts in the UK and you mostly get the same titles copied from one list to the next. This one comes from the chart. CastFox scrapes the Apple Podcasts charts every day in 78 countries, and the 20 shows below are the ones that held the top of the UK Comedy chart across 25 separate snapshots between February 24 and October 3, 2026, scored on how consistently they charted, how high they averaged and how many countries they reach. Every show here appeared in all 25 of those snapshots.
Two patterns run through the data. The first is that the UK comedy chart is a chart of company rather than of comedy formats: 11 of the 20 shows are simply two or more people talking to each other every week, with no game, no quiz and no subject, and only four are built on a format you could explain to someone who has never heard the show. The second is how domestic it is. Eleven of the 20 charted in fewer than 25 of the 78 countries we track, with Hanging Out With Ant & Dec, Frank Off The Radio, Staying Relevant and The Therapy Crouch the narrowest of all, while the three widest-reaching shows in the UK Comedy chart are American: The Joe Rogan Experience, Good Hang with Amy Poehler and SmartLess. Romesh Ranganathan has two shows in this top twenty, and Global has two. The category has settled into five recognizable shapes: panel and format shows, comedian double acts, couples and parenting comedy, friends talking about their week, and celebrity interview comedy.
Each card below shows the real cover art, the host, what the show is, why it earned its place in 2026 and who it is best for, plus the chart numbers behind the ranking: how many of the 25 UK Comedy chart snapshots it appeared in, its average UK rank, its best rank, and how many countries it charted in on the most recent scrape. The 20 Best UK Comedy Podcasts to Listen To in 2026
Panel Shows and Comedy With a Format
#2. No Such Thing As A Fish
Hosted by No Such Thing As A Fish
About this show: Dan Schreiber, James Harkin, Andrew Hunter Murray and Anna Ptaszynski discuss the most amazing facts they have learned over the past seven days. The show describes itself as a multi award-winning, globe-travelling, 600-million-download phenomenon.
Why it made the list in 2026: It holds a UK top-ten average all year while charting in more countries than any other British show on this list, which is a combination nothing else in the category manages. A fact-based format travels in a way that a friendship does not. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 5.4, best #3, charting in 62 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want four people being funny about genuinely strange facts.
#4. Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster
Hosted by Plosive
About this show: Comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster invite a guest into their magical restaurant to choose a dream starter, main course, side dish, dessert and drink. Plosive produces it.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the strongest example on this list of a comedy show built around a format rather than a friendship, and the format is what lets it chart well outside Britain where most UK hangout shows do not. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 8.1, best #2, charting in 42 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want a repeatable game with a different comedian or actor inside it every week.
#8. Fin vs History
Hosted by Fin Taylor & Horatio Gould
About this show: Comedians Fin Taylor and Horatio Gould guess and explain every event in human history, from Neanderthals to 9/11, for people who like history but do not care what actually happened. The show runs a Patreon.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the only show on this list with a subject stacked on top of the comedy, and it holds a UK top-ten average without a famous host or a network behind it, which almost nothing else here does. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 7.5, best #3, charting in 25 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want history delivered confidently and incorrectly.
#12. Friday Night Comedy from BBC Radio 4
Hosted by BBC Radio 4
About this show: Topical comedy from BBC Radio 4, carrying The News Quiz, Dead Ringers, The Naked Week and Too Long; Didn't Read in one weekly feed, published every Friday and available on BBC Sounds seven days earlier.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the only broadcast radio comedy strand on this list and the only panel-show feed in it, and it charts in far more countries than a weekly round-up of British news stories has any business doing. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 31, best #13, charting in 44 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want the week's news handed to satirists rather than analysts.
Comedian Double Acts
#11. Help I Sexted My Boss
Hosted by Audio Always
About this show: William Hanson and Jordan North take on the challenges of modern life for Audio Always, pitching etiquette against mayhem. The show's own pitch is manners meets chaos and an unlikely friendship.
Why it made the list in 2026: It has one of the deepest back catalogues on this list and it has never needed a reinvention to stay in the chart, which suggests the pairing itself is the format. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 13.1, best #8, charting in 26 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want an etiquette expert and a broadcaster disagreeing about how to behave.
#13. Wolf & Owl with Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis
Hosted by Ranga Bee & Platform Media
About this show: Tom Davis, the Wolf, and Romesh Ranganathan, the Owl, talk for an hour a week because they could not work out a format, and take on listener problems when they remember to ask for them. The show warns that it contains swearing.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the second Romesh Ranganathan show in this top twenty and the looser of the two. Holding a UK top-ten average with a show whose stated premise is that it has no premise is the achievement here. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 10.1, best #4, charting in 19 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want two comedians talking with no purpose and no destination.
#15. Elis James and John Robins
Hosted by Significant Productions
About this show: Elis James and John Robins keep listeners company twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, with what the show calls big laughs and top quality content. Significant Productions makes it.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is one of the few shows here whose appeal is the two hosts and nothing else, with no guest, no game and no subject, and it has held its UK chart place all year on that alone. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 13, best #6, charting in 17 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want the same two voices twice a week, every week.
#16. Hanging Out With Ant & Dec
Hosted by Belta Box & Platform Media
About this show: Ant and Dec, in their own words two best mates with very busy lives, get to just hang out together with no scripts and no time pressure. New episodes land on Thursdays with an extra one on Mondays.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the most purely domestic show on this list: its chart performance is almost entirely British, and it got there on name recognition with one of the smallest back catalogues here. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 10.4, best #3, charting in 8 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who already like the pair on television and want them unscripted.
#20. Frank Off The Radio: The Frank Skinner Podcast
Hosted by Avalon
About this show: Frank and Emily make a show the feed describes as being like joining your mates for a coffee. Avalon produces it, and the show notes a Radio Academy Award.
Why it made the list in 2026: The title tells you the premise, and in international terms it is one of the narrowest shows here: it holds its UK chart place almost entirely on a domestic audience, all year, without a format. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 19, best #15, charting in 9 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want a familiar voice and a cup of tea rather than a premise.
Couples and Parenting Comedy
#7. Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe
Hosted by Keep It Light Media / Spotify Studios
About this show: Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe share their own tales of parenting woe and talk to celebrity parents about how they are coping, or not coping. It is a Spotify podcast with video episodes on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Why it made the list in 2026: No show in the UK comedy chart held a better average position this year. It is the clearest case in this category of a premise that sounds narrow becoming the default comedy listen for a whole demographic. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 1.6, best #1, charting in 21 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Parents who want to hear that everyone else is also only just holding it together.
#9. Sh**ged Married Annoyed
Hosted by Chris & Rosie Ramsey
About this show: Chris and Rosie Ramsey talk about life, relationships, arguments, annoyances and parenting, and answer listener questions with a secret celebrity each week. Their stated reason for making it is that a podcast is the only way they get to finish a conversation.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is one of the longest-running couples shows in the UK chart and it is still sitting right at the top of it, which is the difficult part: most shows this far into their run have drifted down. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 5.6, best #2, charting in 21 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want a couple arguing affectionately with listener problems in the middle.
#18. The Therapy Crouch
Hosted by Tall or Nothing
About this show: Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch explore the trials of their own relationship and their listeners', in what the show calls a safe space where nothing is off limits. Tall or Nothing produces it.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the steadiest show in the lower half of this list: its average, its best and its latest UK positions all sit within a few places of each other, so it has neither climbed nor faded this year. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 19.7, best #15, charting in 12 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want a married couple talking about relationships with the jokes left in.
Friends Talking About Their Week
#5. My Therapist Ghosted Me
Hosted by Global
About this show: Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally have a weekly chat with, in the show's words, 100% honesty guaranteed. The title comes from Joanne's therapist refusing to take her calls.
Why it made the list in 2026: It sat in the UK top three on the latest snapshot and it is the most internationally successful of the friendship shows on this list, which is the harder of those two things to pull off. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 10.8, best #3, charting in 37 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want two friends talking with no format and no filter.
#14. LuAnna: The Podcast
Hosted by Global
About this show: Luisa Zissman and Anna Williamson rant and chat through the topical stories of the week and share listener stories, for Global. The show's position is that there is no such thing as too much information.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is one of the most domestic shows on this list and still averaged a UK top-ten position for the year, so nearly all of that chart performance comes from a single country. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 9.8, best #3, charting in 16 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want unfiltered weekly chat and are not easily embarrassed.
#17. Staying Relevant
Hosted by Staying Relevant Productions
About this show: Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks talk through public appearances that went wrong, brand campaigns they would rather forget and the reality television that still follows them around. The show carries an explicit language warning.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is the clearest reality-television crossover in the UK comedy chart, and it holds a mid-table average with an audience that is almost entirely British. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 15, best #6, charting in 10 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who follow British reality television and want the aftermath discussed honestly.
Celebrity Interview Comedy
#1. The Joe Rogan Experience
Hosted by Joe Rogan
About this show: The official podcast of comedian Joe Rogan, built on long-form conversations that often run past three hours with guests from comedy, fighting, science, health and politics.
Why it made the list in 2026: It is filed under Comedy on Apple Podcasts and it never leaves the UK chart, which makes it the most reliable presence in this category even though almost nothing about it is British. Its international reach is also the widest of anything here by a clear margin. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 11.6, best #6, charting in 77 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want one very long conversation rather than a tight comedy format.
#3. Good Hang with Amy Poehler
Hosted by The Ringer
About this show: Amy Poehler welcomes celebrities and friends into her studio each week to talk about their careers, mutual friends and what has been making them laugh. The Ringer produces it, and the show is explicit that it is not trying to improve you or give advice.
Why it made the list in 2026: It has one of the smallest back catalogues on this list and still charts in more countries than anything here except Joe Rogan, which shows how quickly a hangout show with a famous host now travels. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 26, best #9, charting in 71 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want celebrity conversation with no self-improvement attached.
#6. The Romesh Ranganathan Show
Hosted by Ranga Bee & Platform Media
About this show: Romesh Ranganathan meets actors, musicians, comedians and other guests for candid conversations every Monday, and on Thursdays his mum Shanthi joins the show. Ranga Bee and Platform Media produce it.
Why it made the list in 2026: It averaged one of the two best positions in the whole UK comedy chart this year, and it did that on a mostly domestic audience rather than a global one, which makes it the most dominant British interview show in the category. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 2, best #1, charting in 24 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want celebrity interviews from a host who is a comedian first and an interviewer second.
#10. SmartLess
Hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, Will Arnett
About this show: Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett take turns surprising the other two with a mystery guest, which produces an unscripted conversation each episode. The hosts are American actors and producers known for Arrested Development, Will & Grace and Ozark.
Why it made the list in 2026: It reaches a very wide international audience, but its UK position has slipped over the course of the year rather than held, which is why it sits below British shows with a much narrower global footprint. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 36.2, best #22, charting in 54 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want three famous friends and a guest none of them saw coming.
#19. Joe Marler Will See You Now
Hosted by Platform Media
About this show: Joe Marler has opened an office as a completely unqualified pseudo psychologist and, with his assistant Jake Bhardwaj, welcomes a different celebrity in for an appointment each week. Platform Media produces it.
Why it made the list in 2026: It has the smallest back catalogue of anything on this list and it still appeared in every snapshot we took, which makes it the fastest arrival in the category this year. Chart record: 25 of 25 UK snapshots, average UK rank 22, best #4, charting in 13 countries on the latest scrape.
Best fit for: Listeners who want a celebrity interview show where the interviewer is deliberately out of his depth.

How We Ranked These: CastFox Methodology
CastFox scrapes the Apple Podcasts charts every day in 78 countries and stores every position in the top 200 of every genre. For this list we took the 25 2026 snapshots of the UK UK Comedy chart between 2026-02-24 and 2026-10-03, and scored every show that appeared in the top 100 of any of them.
- Consistency (50% of the score): the number of snapshots in which the show appeared in the UK top 100. Every show on this list scored 25 out of 25, which is the filter that removes one-week spikes.
- Average UK rank (30%): the mean of the show's UK chart positions across those snapshots. Lower is better.
- Global reach (20%): the number of tracked countries in which the show was in the genre top 100 on the most recent snapshot. This is what separates a show with a large UK following from a show with a global one.
There are no paid placements and no editorial overrides. A few shows on this list would not be our personal picks; they are here because the chart data put them here, and we would rather show you what people are actually listening to than what we think they should be. Chart position is not the same as audience size, so treat the ranking as a measure of sustained popularity rather than a download count. For a deeper look at what chart data can and cannot tell you, read how podcast audience demographics are calculated.
How to Pick the Right UK Comedy Podcast for You
You want the best British comedy podcasts rather than the American shows in the chart
Seventeen of the 20 shows here are British productions, and the three that are not are easy to spot: The Joe Rogan Experience, Good Hang with Amy Poehler and SmartLess. Skip those and start with Parenting Hell, The Romesh Ranganathan Show, Sh**ged Married Annoyed, No Such Thing As A Fish and Off Menu, which are the five British shows with the strongest UK chart records this year. The country count on each card is the quickest tell: a show charting in fewer than 25 countries is being carried almost entirely by listeners at home.
You are after the funniest UK podcasts 2026 has produced rather than the most popular
Popularity and laughs come apart in this chart. The shows at the top are often the most comfortable rather than the funniest, so if you want jokes per minute, go to the ones hosted by working standups: Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster, Fin vs History, Wolf & Owl, Elis James and John Robins and Friday Night Comedy from BBC Radio 4. Our global comedy list compares the same formats outside Britain.
You want the best comedy podcasts with British comedians hosting, not presenters or reality stars
The standup-hosted shelf of this list is Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster, The Romesh Ranganathan Show and Wolf & Owl with Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis, Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, Fin vs History with Fin Taylor and Horatio Gould, Sh**ged Married Annoyed with Chris Ramsey, Elis James and John Robins, and Frank Off The Radio with Frank Skinner. Romesh Ranganathan is the only host with two shows in this top twenty.
You want the top comedy podcasts on Apple Podcasts UK right now, not for the whole year
The summary table is ordered by our consistency score across the full year, not by today's chart. For the shows sitting highest on the latest UK scrape, read the latest rank column instead of the score: Parenting Hell, Sh**ged Married Annoyed, My Therapist Ghosted Me, The Romesh Ranganathan Show and No Such Thing As A Fish are the five that held the UK top five on the most recent snapshot. The live top 50 refreshes daily on our comedy chart page and UK chart page.
You want the best UK comedy panel podcasts and format shows, not another hangout
Four shows on this list are built around something other than a conversation. Friday Night Comedy from BBC Radio 4 is the only broadcast panel strand here, carrying The News Quiz, Dead Ringers, The Naked Week and Too Long; Didn't Read in one feed. No Such Thing As A Fish gives four hosts a week of strange facts to argue over, Off Menu runs a guest through a five-course dream meal every episode, and Fin vs History works through human history on purpose and gets it wrong on purpose.
You need something that fits a commute, or something long enough for a drive
For a short run, the format shows are tighter and land on a schedule you can plan around: Friday Night Comedy from BBC Radio 4 every Friday and No Such Thing As A Fish once a week. For a longer drive, The Joe Rogan Experience regularly runs past three hours by its own description, and the twice-weekly hangouts give you two episodes to work through: Help I Sexted My Boss, Staying Relevant and The Therapy Crouch all carry back catalogues deep enough to binge. The episode count column on the summary table shows how much there is to get through.

What is the best comedy podcast in the UK in 2026?
By CastFox's chart-consistency score, the top show in the Apple Podcasts UK Comedy chart in 2026 is The Joe Rogan Experience, which appeared in all 25 UK snapshots between February and October and charted in 77 of the 78 countries we track. If you want the show that sat highest in the UK chart itself, that is Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, with an average UK rank of 1.6, followed by The Romesh Ranganathan Show at 2.0 and No Such Thing As A Fish at 5.4. Apple files Joe Rogan under Comedy, so it ranks here, but its score comes mostly from international reach rather than its UK position.
How is this list ranked?
Each show's score combines three things from CastFox's daily Apple Podcasts chart data: how many of the 25 UK Comedy chart snapshots it appeared in the top 100 of (50% of the score), its average UK rank across those appearances (30%), and how many of the 78 tracked countries it charted in on the latest scrape (20%). That is why Parenting Hell, with the best UK average in the category, sits below shows with a worse UK average but far wider international reach. There are no paid placements and no editorial overrides.
Why is The Joe Rogan Experience on a list of UK comedy podcasts?
Because that is where Apple files it. The Joe Rogan Experience lists Comedy as its category on Apple Podcasts, so it appears in the UK Comedy chart every day and our score picks it up. We rank what the chart says rather than filtering by where a show is made, and the country count on each card makes the difference plain: Joe Rogan charted in 77 countries on the latest scrape while Hanging Out With Ant & Dec charted in 8. Good Hang with Amy Poehler and SmartLess are the other two American shows in this top twenty.
Which UK comedy podcasts release new episodes more than once a week?
Several of them, and most state their schedule in the feed. The Romesh Ranganathan Show publishes on Mondays with a Thursday episode featuring his mum Shanthi, Parenting Hell posts video episodes on Tuesdays and Fridays, Elis James and John Robins land on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Hanging Out With Ant & Dec publishes on Thursdays with an extra Monday episode. Friday Night Comedy from BBC Radio 4 is weekly on Fridays and reaches BBC Sounds seven days before other apps. CastFox records about two new episodes a week for most of the rest of this list, including Off Menu, Help I Sexted My Boss, Wolf & Owl, Staying Relevant and Joe Marler Will See You Now.
Are these UK comedy podcasts free to listen to?
Yes. Every show here publishes a free feed on Apple Podcasts and the other major apps, and the list was built from the free Apple Podcasts UK Comedy chart. Some sell extras on top of it: Fin vs History runs a Patreon for supporters, Parenting Hell puts its video episodes on Spotify, and Friday Night Comedy from BBC Radio 4 goes out on BBC Sounds a week before it appears elsewhere. Nothing on this list is paywalled in full.
