How is this list ranked?
Each show gets a score out of 100: 50 points for consistency (the share of the 24 US Entrepreneurship chart snapshots in which it appeared in the top 100), 30 points for average US rank, and 20 points for the number of the 78 tracked countries in which it charted on the latest scrape. All 19 shows scored full marks on consistency, so the order is decided by average rank and country reach. There are no paid placements. The data comes from CastFox's daily Apple Podcasts chart tracking, not from a survey or an editor's picks.
Are these the most popular shows or the best ones?
They are the most consistently popular, which is a measurable thing, and we would rather say that than claim an editorial verdict. Chart position measures sustained listening inside a category, not download counts, production quality or how useful the advice turns out to be. A show can hold a high position for seven months and still be wrong for you, which is why every card includes a best fit line and why the how-to-pick section groups shows by what you are trying to do. We keep shows we would not personally recommend when the data puts them here, and we drop shows that have stopped publishing.
How often does this list change?
The main list moves slowly by design, because it rewards appearing in the top 100 across every snapshot rather than spiking for a week. The Rising This Month section moves fast: it compares each show's average US position across the three most recent snapshots with the three before that, so a show that just broke into the top 100 appears there long before it could qualify for the main list.
