Best Podcasts for DTC Brands to Sponsor in 2026
Updated October 2026 · Based on CastFox data covering 28 daily Apple Podcasts chart snapshots in the United States (2026-02-24 to 2026-10-13), 4,352 episode records and 3,823 detected host-read ad reads across the top 40 comedy, health and fitness, society and culture, and true crime shows.
The best podcasts for DTC brands to sponsor in 2026 are the 27 shows, out of the 160 we scanned, that already carry four or more distinct consumer product brands. That number is the point of this post. Of those 160 top-charting US shows, 85 ran any detectable host-read sponsor this year, and consumer product brands took 1,440 of the 2,652 ad reads we could attribute to a named sponsor, so a little over half of the commercial inventory in these four genres is already bought by companies that ship a physical product to a customer's door.
This is a different list from the biggest podcasts in each genre. A show with eight million downloads and one insurance sponsor is a worse first buy than a mid-chart show that has run Quince, Helix Sleep, ButcherBox, and Warby Parker in the last few months, because the second show has a host who reads a promo code properly and an audience that has already proved it will use one. We built the list by counting consumer brands, not listeners.
Below is the shortlist with each show's chart record, country reach, detected ad load, and DTC brand count, then a read on which genres have inventory and which do not, the category breakdown of who is buying, how promo codes are actually structured on these shows, what a 2026 flight costs, and how to vet a specific show before you commit. The 2026 Shortlist: Shows Already Running DTC Ads
Every show below held a top 100 position in its genre on at least 27 of our 28 US chart snapshots between February 24 and October 13, 2026. "DTC brands detected" counts the distinct consumer product brands we found in that show's recent episodes, and "detected ad reads" counts every host-read sponsor mention we detected, consumer or not. Read the two columns together: the second tells you whether the show sells ads at all, and the first tells you whether brands like yours are the ones buying.

Three things stand out in that table. True crime has the fewest shows carrying ads of any genre we scanned, but the handful that do carry ads carry a dense consumer roster: True Crime Obsessed tops the whole list with 15 distinct DTC brands, and Serialously with Annie Elise, National Park After Dark, and True Crime with Kendall Rae all carry 12 or more. Second, the highest ad volume in the sample is not in comedy. The Ultimate Human with Gary Brecka carries 365 detected ad reads, more than any other show here, almost all of them supplements and devices. Third, chart rank and DTC density are close to unrelated: The Joe Rogan Experience held the number one comedy position on all 28 snapshots and carries three consumer brands, while Are You Garbage? Comedy Podcast sits around rank 36 and carries 11.
Best Podcasts for Ecommerce Advertising
If you sell online and you want the shortest path to a test that reads cleanly, start with the shows where the host already performs a code-and-URL read several times per episode. In our sample those are I've Had It with 14 DTC brands across 101 detected ad reads, True Crime Obsessed with 15 across 79, Serialously with Annie Elise with 13 across 46, and Are You Garbage? Comedy Podcast with 11 across 86. All four hold a top 100 position in every snapshot, so the audience is stable rather than spiking around one viral episode.
The second tier is worth more than it looks. The Viall Files carries 13 DTC brands but only 34 detected ad reads, and Chrisley Confessions 2.0 carries eight across 30. A lower ad count on a show with a long consumer roster usually means fewer spots per episode, which is the opposite of a problem for a brand that wants to be heard.
Country reach is the tiebreaker most ecommerce buyers forget. True Crime Obsessed and I've Had It appear in the top 100 in 7 and 6 countries, so a US-only shipping footprint wastes very little of either audience, while Serialously with Annie Elise reaches 22 countries and Bad Friends reaches 26. That is upside if you ship internationally and leakage if you do not.
Podcasts That Work for Consumer Brands
Across the four genres, 85 of 160 top-charting shows carried a detectable host-read sponsor this year, and the split by genre is sharper than most media plans assume. Comedy had 25 of 40 shows carrying ads and 1,163 detected ad reads over 1,202 episode records. Health and fitness had 26 of 40 and the densest inventory in the sample, 1,277 ad reads over 1,059 episodes. Society and culture had 22 of 40 and 1,030 ad reads. True crime had only 12 of 40 shows carrying ads and 353 ad reads over 990 episodes.
| Genre | Top-40 shows carrying ads | Episode records scanned | Detected ad reads | Ad reads per episode | Sponsors on 2+ shows |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Health & Fitness | 26 of 40 | 1,059 | 1,277 | 1.21 | 19 |
| Comedy | 25 of 40 | 1,202 | 1,163 | 0.97 | 57 |
| Society & Culture | 22 of 40 | 1,101 | 1,030 | 0.94 | 50 |
| True Crime | 12 of 40 | 990 | 353 | 0.36 | 32 |
The last column is the one a DTC planner should read first. In comedy, 57 of the 60 most-placed sponsors ran on two or more shows; in society and culture, 50 of 60; in true crime, 32 of 60. In health and fitness, only 19 of 60 did. Health and fitness has the most inventory and the least brand overlap, because its biggest ad pods are dominated by single-show supplement rosters: The Ultimate Human with Gary Brecka alone accounts for 365 of the genre's 1,277 ad reads, with brands such as A-GAME, AION, BAJA GOLD, and CYMBIOTIKA appearing on that show and nowhere else in the sample.
In practice, comedy and society and culture are where cross-show packages are normal and you can replicate what competitors already do. Health and fitness is where a brand buys a host rather than a genre. True crime is the tightest market of the four: little inventory, but the shows that do sell carry long consumer rosters and mostly domestic audiences.
Which Consumer Categories Are Already Buying
Of the 174 distinct sponsor brands we detected across these four genres, 101 sell a consumer product you order online. Grouping them by what they sell shows where the competition sits and which shelves are crowded on each show.
| Category | Brands detected | Show placements | Detected ad reads | Most widely placed brands |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Supplements and wellness | 25 | 64 | 509 | Nutrafol, ARMRA, AG1, LMNT, Timeline, Ritual |
| Apparel and accessories | 20 | 71 | 213 | Quince, Warby Parker, Fabletics, Ridge, Bombas |
| Food, drink and meal kits | 22 | 44 | 308 | Factor, IQ Bar, ButcherBox, Ka'Chava, Dose Daily |
| Home, kitchen and sleep | 19 | 58 | 292 | Helix Sleep, Wayfair, Hexclad, Boll & Branch, Our Place |
| Beauty and personal care | 10 | 20 | 84 | Jones Road Beauty, iRestore, VanMan, Jolie |
| Pet and household | 5 | 17 | 34 | Smalls, Pestie, Ollie |
Apparel takes the most show placements of any category, 71, but only 213 ad reads, which works out to roughly three reads per placement. Supplements are the reverse: 64 placements and 509 reads, closer to eight reads per placement. Apparel brands buy wide and shallow across many shows, and supplement brands buy deep on a few. Neither pattern is wrong, but they are priced differently and they need different creative, and the mistake we see most often is a first-time apparel advertiser buying a supplement-shaped flight on one show.
Beauty and pet are the thinnest shelves here, with 10 and 5 brands. If you sell in either, the shows carrying your competitors are easy to name: Jones Road Beauty runs on five including The Nerve with Maureen Callahan and I've Had It, and Smalls on six including True Crime with Kendall Rae and Bad Friends.
Best Podcasts for Promo Code Campaigns
Promo codes are the default on these shows, not the exception. Of the 174 brands we detected, 142 ran with at least one promo code and 148 ran with a code or a vanity URL path, so roughly five in six sponsors on these genres are buying measurable, code-attributed reads rather than branding impressions. If your flight depends on a code redeeming, this is the part of the market to buy in.
The codes themselves are almost always the show's own shorthand, which matters because it tells you the host records the read personally. Quince runs as dailyshow on The Daily Show: Ears Edition, JUICY on Juicy Scoop, ACS on the Adam Carolla Show, SOTRUE on So True with Caleb Hearon, and BOYDAD on Son of a Boy Dad. Factor goes further and builds the discount into the code, running TWS50OFF, son50off, garbage50off, and badfriends50off on four different comedy shows. Pestie, Smalls, and iRestore all use vanity paths instead, such as pestie.com/AYG and irestore.com/djp.
For a code campaign specifically, the shows worth a first call are the ones that already carry a long roster of coded sponsors and sit mid-chart, where a host read is still a host read rather than a network insert. In our sample that means Are You Garbage? Comedy Podcast (11 DTC brands, 86 detected ad reads, 3 countries), True Crime Obsessed (15 brands, 79 reads, 7 countries), National Park After Dark (12 brands, 77 reads, 7 countries), and Son of a Boy Dad (7 brands, 107 reads, 3 countries). The low country counts are a feature here: a code that only ships in the US is not wasted on a mostly domestic audience.
Podcast Sponsorship for Shopify Brands
The clearest signal in the whole sample is that Shopify itself is the second most widely placed brand in it: 22 shows and 96 detected ad reads, present in all four genres. Only Quince, on 26 shows, is placed more widely. Shopify's spread breaks down as eight comedy shows, eight society and culture shows, four true crime shows, and two health and fitness shows, and unlike almost every other sponsor here it buys with a trial offer rather than a discount code.
For a brand running on Shopify, that is useful two ways. It tells you the audiences on these specific shows have already been sold the idea of buying from an independent online store, repeatedly, by the same hosts you are about to approach. It also gives you a ready-made target list: the 22 shows Shopify bought are shows a platform with a large media budget and good attribution chose to keep buying for eight months, which is a stronger recommendation than any downloads claim. Those shows include The Shawn Ryan Show, Modern Wisdom, Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald, Danny Jones Podcast, and Serialously with Annie Elise.
The practical sequence for a Shopify store is to pick two shows from the shortlist in your own category, one mid-chart for volume and one smaller for a cleaner read, then use the code structure your competitors already use on those shows rather than inventing your own. You can monitor both shows in CastFox and watch for new sponsors in your category.
DTC Podcast Advertising 2026: What a Flight Costs
No show in our sample publishes a rate card, so treat the following as typical industry ranges rather than CastFox statistics. In 2026 host-read podcast advertising generally runs about $18 to $30 CPM on top 10 chart shows and network packages, $20 to $40 on mid-chart category shows, and $25 to $50 on small niche shows with a highly specific audience. DTC deals are frequently structured as a hybrid instead: a reduced CPM plus a per-conversion or per-code payment, or a flat per-episode fee on smaller shows.
What CastFox data can tell you is flight shape rather than price. The brands that clearly renew in this sample average between roughly three and seven detected reads per show: Quince shows 98 detected reads across 26 shows, Helix Sleep 84 across 13, Shopify 96 across 22, and Factor 17 across 7. That is consistent with four to eight episode blocks per show rather than one-off spots, which matches what the shows themselves tend to sell. Budget for a block on two shows rather than a single read on six.
Genre changes the maths more than rank does. Health and fitness carries 1.21 detected ad reads per episode against 0.36 in true crime, so a true crime show with the same audience size has less inventory, less competition in the pod, and usually a longer wait for a slot. If you want a cheap, clean test, the thin end of the market is often better value; Cheapest Podcast Genres to Advertise In goes through that trade-off genre by genre, and Podcast Sponsorship Rates by Audience Size covers how rates move as shows grow.
How to Vet a Show Before Sponsoring or Pitching It
A show that carries consumer ads is a candidate, not a buy. These four checks are the workflow we built CastFox around, and they take about twenty minutes per show.
Discover: build the candidate list from sponsor history, not download claims
Start from the shows that already run brands in your category rather than the shows with the largest audience. Of the 160 top-charting shows we scanned, only 27 carry four or more consumer brands, and that is the list worth your time. CastFox discovery lets you filter the charts by genre and country and see which shows hold their position across snapshots, so you start with shows whose audience is stable rather than shows that spiked once.
Analyze: read the ad pod before you ask for a rate card
Open the show's recent episodes and count the sponsors, the categories, and the repeats. Three questions decide it: does a direct competitor already run here, how many spots share each episode, and has any brand come back more than twice. A show carrying 15 consumer brands over 79 reads, like True Crime Obsessed, is a working ad business; a show with one insurance brand is not, whatever its chart position. CastFox analysis puts the detected sponsors and the chart record on one page.
Organize: group candidates into a flight you can actually negotiate
Sort the shortlist into tiers before you contact anyone: one mid-chart show for volume, one smaller show for a clean read, and two reserves in case the first two are sold out for the quarter. Keep country reach next to each name so you do not buy international impressions for a US-only shipping footprint. CastFox lists hold the shortlist, the chart data, and your notes together.
Pitch: approach the host with the code structure their audience already knows
When you reach out, name the format you want and mirror what already runs on that show: a host-read mid-roll with a show-specific code, four to eight episodes, and a landing path you control. Asking for a format the host has never recorded is how a test ends up unrepresentative. CastFox pitching keeps the contact, the ask, and the follow-up in one place.
Methodology: Where These Numbers Come From
CastFox records the Apple Podcasts top 100 in 78 countries every day. For this post we took the 40 most chart-consistent US shows in each of four genres, comedy, health and fitness, society and culture, and true crime, across 28 snapshots between February 24 and October 13, 2026, which gives a pool of 160 shows. We then scanned those shows' processed episode records, 4,352 in all, and detected 3,823 host-read sponsor mentions, each with the sponsor name and, where the host read one, a promo code and a URL.
Three limits are worth stating. Sponsor aggregation keeps the 60 most widely placed sponsors per genre, so the per-show DTC counts in the shortlist are a floor rather than a complete roster. Detection runs on the episodes we have processed, a sample of each show's catalog, so ad read counts compare shows against each other and are not a total spend figure. And brand names come from detected ad copy, where one brand sometimes appears under several spellings; we merged obvious variants such as Helix and Helix Sleep, Factor and Factor Meals, and Ka'Chava and Kachava before counting, so ask any show you negotiate with for the exact code string and landing path.
The classification into consumer categories is ours, based on each brand's name and the URL read on air. Dollar figures in the costs section are typical 2026 industry ranges and are not CastFox measurements, because no show in this sample publishes rates.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best podcasts for DTC brands to sponsor in 2026?
Based on CastFox sponsor detection across the top 40 US comedy, health and fitness, society and culture, and true crime shows, the shows carrying the most distinct consumer product brands in 2026 are True Crime Obsessed with 15, I've Had It with 14, Serialously with Annie Elise and The Viall Files with 13 each, and The Shawn Ryan Show, National Park After Dark, and True Crime with Kendall Rae with 12 each. All of them held a top 100 genre position on at least 27 of our 28 snapshots, so the audience is stable rather than spiking.
Do promo codes still work for podcast advertising in 2026?
The buy side behaves as though they do. Of the 174 sponsor brands we detected in these four genres, 142 ran with at least one promo code and 148 ran with a code or a vanity URL path, roughly five in six. Codes are almost always the show's own shorthand, such as Quince running as JUICY on Juicy Scoop and SOTRUE on So True with Caleb Hearon, and some brands build the discount into the code itself, as Factor does with TWS50OFF and garbage50off.
How much does it cost for a DTC brand to sponsor a podcast in 2026?
Typical 2026 host-read CPMs run about $18 to $30 on top 10 chart shows and network packages, $20 to $40 on mid-chart category shows, and $25 to $50 on small niche shows, and DTC deals are often a hybrid of a reduced CPM plus a per-code or per-conversion payment. Those are industry ranges rather than CastFox statistics, since no show in our sample publishes a rate card. Our data does show flight shape: repeat buyers average roughly three to seven detected reads per show, which points to four to eight episode blocks rather than single spots.
Which podcast genre is best for a consumer product brand?
It depends on whether you want inventory or a clean read. Health and fitness has the densest inventory at 1.21 detected ad reads per episode, but only 19 of its 60 most-placed sponsors ran on more than one show, so brands buy a host rather than a genre. Comedy and society and culture are where cross-show packages are normal, with 57 and 50 of 60 sponsors running on two or more shows. True crime is thinnest, with 12 of 40 top shows carrying ads, but those 12 carry long consumer rosters and mostly domestic audiences.
How do I find podcasts that already run ads for brands like mine?
Look at sponsor history rather than audience claims. CastFox detects the brands running host-read ads in each show's recent episodes alongside the show's chart record across 78 countries, so you can filter to shows where a brand in your category has already run more than once. That filter is what produced the 27 shows in this post from a pool of 160, and you can run the same check on any show a rep pitches you.
