The 100 Fastest-Growing Podcasts of 2026, Ranked by Chart Movement
Updated October 2026 · Based on CastFox data covering 26 snapshots of ten US Apple Podcasts top 100 charts (2026-02-24 to 2026-09-25) and 5M+ indexed podcasts
The fastest growing podcasts of 2026 are led by The Dr. John Delony Show, Building Champions for Life, and Examined: The Backfire Effect. CastFox captured 26 snapshots of the US Apple Podcasts top 100 in ten genres between February 24 and September 25, 2026, and this post ranks the 100 shows with the largest upward move between the three most recent snapshots and the three before them.
This is a momentum list, not a quality list. It answers a narrower question than rankings like our best tech podcasts of 2026 or best true crime podcasts of 2026, which reward shows for holding a high rank across every snapshot. Here we reward change, which is what you want when you are looking for a show before its rate card catches up, a guest slot that is still open, or an early read on a competitor's next buy.
The mix matters more than the order. 26 of the 100 shows were outside the top 100 across the whole prior window, and 18 of those appear on five or fewer of our 26 dates, which makes them first appearances rather than climbs. At the other end, 42 shows appear in at least 20 of 26 snapshots and 21 appear in all 26. Those 21 are the most useful names on this page, because a show with a floor that is moving up is a different proposition from a show that had one good fortnight.
Every number here comes from CastFox chart data. Apple does not publish download figures, so nothing below is a download estimate, an audience size, or a revenue figure. Chart position measures attention, not quality. For the shows that hold the top of each category all year, start from the genre hubs: society and culture, health and fitness, sports, technology, and true crime.
Catch a climbing show before its rate card does
Every CastFox show profile carries chart history across 78 countries, detected sponsors and promo codes, audience estimates, and verified contacts, so you can see whether a jump is holding before you pitch or buy.

How We Measure Momentum Across Ten Charts
A single day on a podcast chart tells you almost nothing. A show can jump forty places because an episode landed on a Tuesday and give the whole gain back by Friday. So instead of comparing one date to another, we average each show's rank across the three most recent snapshots we hold and compare that to its average across the three snapshots before them. The recent window is September 25, September 19, September 8, 2026. The prior window is September 4, August 18, August 8, 2026.
The difference between those two averages is the number we rank by. A show that went from an average of 87 to an average of 33.3, as In The Dark did, is up 53.7 places. That figure survives a one-day spike in a way a raw rank change does not, and it is the same method behind the rising this month section inside every CastFox genre listicle.
We ran that calculation separately on ten US genre charts: society & culture, health & fitness, sports, technology, true crime, science, education, comedy, business, news. Each show is measured against the chart it actually appears on, then the ten lists are merged and sorted by gain. That merge is the one place to be careful when you read the table. Thirty places on the US Comedy chart and thirty places on the US Science chart are the same number on different size populations, so the ranking tells you who moved most within their own category, not who added the most listeners. Where a show charts in more than one of the ten genres we keep its largest move and name the genre it came from.
Shows that were not in the top 100 on any of the three prior dates are a special case. We do not invent a rank for them and we do not claim they climbed from a position they never held, so they are labeled as outside the top 100 in the prior window. 26 shows here carry that label, and they split into two very different groups: 18 that appear on five or fewer of our 26 dates, which we call new to the top 100, and 8 that appear far more often than that and simply missed the prior window, which we call back in the top 100. One other rule: a show needs to appear on at least two of the three recent dates to qualify at all, so a recent average can be built from two snapshots rather than three, and the cards say so where it applies.
Fastest Growing Podcasts on Apple Podcasts: All 100 in One Table
Read this table with the snapshots column next to the rank change column, because those two together are the whole story. A large move with 2 of 26 snapshots is a debut and should be treated as one. A smaller move with 26 of 26 snapshots is a show with a floor that is grinding upward, which is rarer and usually more durable. The genre column is the chart each show was measured on.

The 25 Biggest Movers, Show by Show
These are the 25 largest gains in the merged ranking, in order. Every card prints the recent and prior average rank, how many of our 26 snapshots the show appears in, its best rank across the whole period, and how many national top 100 charts it reached on the most recent date. Read the pills before the prose: they are the part that separates a durable climb from a single good week, and in this set they disagree with the ranking often enough to matter.
#1. The Dr. John Delony Show
Hosted by Ramsey Network · US Society & Culture chart
About this show: A caller-driven show from the Ramsey Network in which Dr. John Delony takes listener questions about relationships and mental health, sent in by voicemail and email. He holds two PhDs and spent two decades in crisis response before the show. The feed holds 957 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: This is the largest single move in the whole data set, and the only arrival that landed inside the top 20 rather than at the edge of the chart. The caveat is the snapshot count: there is no chart history behind the jump yet in this genre, so the position is a strong first showing rather than a trend. It was outside the US Society & Culture top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #16 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #15.
Best fit for: Listeners who want caller advice on relationships and everyday life, and advertisers already buying across the Ramsey Network.
#2. Building Champions for Life
Hosted by Kirk Spahn · US Education chart
About this show: Kirk Spahn, a fourth-generation educator and founder of the Institute for Civic Leadership, interviews world champions and high achievers from sport, business, the arts, and education about character and long-term performance. The feed holds 70 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: The second largest move in the set, and like the first it arrived high rather than scraping into the top 100. It charted in one country on the most recent date, so this is a US story for now. It was outside the US Education top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #22 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #14.
Best fit for: Coaches, school leaders, and brands selling into youth sport and leadership development.
#3. Examined: The Backfire Effect
Hosted by Western Sound and Pushkin Industries · US True Crime chart
About this show: A reported true crime series from Western Sound and Pushkin Industries about overlooked cases and the people inside the criminal legal system. The current run returns to a killing nearly 40 years ago in the parking lot of a community college in Port Huron, Michigan, and to the man convicted of it who says he was not there. The feed holds 64 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: Of the three biggest arrivals this is the one with real international spread already, reaching dozens of national top 100 charts on the most recent date. That is unusual for a show with this little chart history and it suggests an audience that arrived with the show rather than finding it on the chart. It was outside the US True Crime top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #30 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #24.
Best fit for: Narrative true crime listeners, and advertisers who want a documentary environment rather than a chat show.
#4. Decoded | Unlock The Secrets of Human Behavior, Emotion and Motivation
Hosted by Elisabeth McKay | Mental Health Innovator and PredictiveMind Founder · US Health & Fitness chart
About this show: Elisabeth McKay's show on subconscious patterns, motivation, and behavior change, aimed at listeners trying to break habits they describe as running on autopilot. The feed holds 55 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: This one needs reading carefully, because it is the clearest example of a pattern that shows up a dozen times in this list. It is labeled outside the top 100 for the prior window, but it is not a debut: it appears in 22 of our 26 snapshots and has been as high as sixth. What the delta is measuring is a dip across the three prior dates followed by a recovery, not a first arrival. It was outside the US Health & Fitness top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #36 across the recent window, appearing in 22 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #6.
Best fit for: Self-improvement listeners, and brands in coaching, journaling, and habit-tracking apps.
#5. In The Dark
Hosted by The New Yorker · US True Crime chart
About this show: The New Yorker's investigative series, hosted by Madeleine Baran and running since 2016. Earlier seasons covered the abduction of Jacob Wetterling in rural Minnesota and the six trials of Curtis Flowers. The feed holds 70 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: The strongest entry in the set on every axis except raw delta. It is in 24 of our 26 snapshots, it has been as high as third, and on the most recent date it charted in 76 of the 78 countries we track, more than any other show on this page. It moved from an average US True Crime rank of #87 in the prior window to #33.3 in the recent one, appears in 24 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #3.
Best fit for: Investigative journalism listeners, and advertisers who want one buy that reaches a global audience.
#6. Getting Naked: The Podcast
Hosted by Valerie's Place · US Education chart
About this show: Valerie Bertinelli's interview show, based on her book of the same name, built around unfiltered conversations about getting comfortable in your own skin. The feed holds 23 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A clean debut with nothing behind it yet. It cleared the top 100 on two of our dates and was off the chart on the most recent one, so read the position as a first appearance rather than a direction. It was outside the US Education top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #50.5 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #22.
Best fit for: Listeners who follow celebrity interview shows, and brands in lifestyle retail and wellness.
#7. I’m Not a Monster Presents… Where is Austin Tice?
Hosted by BBC Radio 5 Live · US Society & Culture chart
About this show: An investigative documentary strand from BBC Radio 5 Live reported by Josh Baker. The feed carries the award-winning series across its runs, including the reporting on the three London schoolgirls who left for Syria in 2015. The feed holds 31 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: The widest reach of any arrival in the top ten, charting in dozens of countries on the most recent date. That is what a BBC strand with an existing audience looks like when a new run lands, and it is a different thing from a show building an audience from scratch. It was outside the US Society & Culture top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #51 across the recent window, appearing in 3 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #20.
Best fit for: News documentary listeners, and advertisers buying international English-language inventory.
#8. Heavyweight
Hosted by Pushkin Industries · US Society & Culture chart
About this show: Jonathan Goldstein's long-running series, now at Pushkin Industries, in which he helps people go back to an unresolved moment in their past and do something about it. The feed holds 126 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A genuine climb rather than an arrival, and the kind this list exists to surface: 25 of our 26 snapshots, a best rank of eleventh, and a recent average in the low thirties. Nothing here depends on one good week. It moved from an average US Society & Culture rank of #81.3 in the prior window to #33.3 in the recent one, appears in 25 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #11.
Best fit for: Narrative audio listeners, and brands that want a long-form host read in a trusted feed.
#9. Sports Gambling Podcast
Hosted by Sports Gambling Podcast Network, Sean Green, Ryan Kramer · US Sports chart
About this show: Sean Green and Ryan Kramer have picked every NFL game against the spread since 2011, and also cover college football, college basketball, the NBA, and golf. The picks and posts are free.
Why it is moving in 2026: A football season arrival. It cleared the top 100 on three of our dates, all of them recent, and charted in two countries, so this is the sports calendar showing up in chart data rather than a structural change in the show's audience. It was outside the US Sports top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #54.5 across the recent window, appearing in 3 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #42.
Best fit for: Sports betting audiences, and sportsbook or fantasy brands working the NFL calendar.
#10. Product Therapy
Hosted by SVPG · US Technology chart
About this show: Christian Idiodi of SVPG goes behind the craft of product work with fellow SVPG partners, on the behavioral, mindset, and cultural issues the description says usually are not talked about. The feed holds 46 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: The largest mover in our technology-only ranking this month, and it carries into the merged list. One caveat belongs on the card: the show was off the top 100 on the most recent date, so its recent average is built from two of the three recent snapshots rather than all three. It moved from an average US Technology rank of #81.5 in the prior window to #39 in the recent one, appears in 13 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #24.
Best fit for: Product managers and product leaders, and B2B software brands selling into product organizations.
#11. Embedded
Hosted by NPR · US Society & Culture chart
About this show: NPR's home for audio documentaries, publishing deeply reported narrative series about what has been sealed off or overlooked around the headlines. The feed holds 186 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A seasonal show, and the snapshot count says so plainly: it is in 6 of our 26 dates, because it charts while a season is running and leaves when one ends. Inside the recent window it sat in the low thirties with a best rank of tenth. It moved from an average US Society & Culture rank of #75.5 in the prior window to #33.5 in the recent one, appears in 6 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #10.
Best fit for: Public radio listeners, and advertisers who can time a buy to a season launch.
#12. How Hard Can It Be? with Diana Maria Riva
Hosted by iHeartPodcasts · US Education chart
About this show: Diana Maria Riva hosts a weekly show for Gen X women navigating midlife, with guests drawn from her own circle plus celebrities and experts. The feed holds 27 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: An iHeartPodcasts launch that cleared the chart on two of our dates and had slipped toward the bottom of the top 100 by the most recent one. The move is real and the floor is not established yet. It was outside the US Education top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #62.5 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #39.
Best fit for: Women in midlife, and brands in health, beauty, and retail aimed at that audience.
#13. The Ringer NFL Show
Hosted by The Ringer · US Sports chart
About this show: Tom Pelissero, Sheil Kapadia, and Billy Gil unpack the NFL's biggest stories three times a week for The Ringer.
Why it is moving in 2026: The clearest seasonal pattern in the set. It appears in 9 of our 26 snapshots, which is the NFL calendar written into chart data, and it moved up as the season got underway. Expect the reverse move in February. It moved from an average US Sports rank of #99 in the prior window to #62 in the recent one, appears in 9 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #47.
Best fit for: NFL audiences, and any advertiser whose year is built around the football season.
#14. Science Quickly
Hosted by Scientific American · US Science chart
About this show: Scientific American's short-form science show, hosted by Rachel Feltman alongside science and tech journalists in a bite-size variety format.
Why it is moving in 2026: A floor grinding upward, which is the most durable shape on this page. It is in 23 of our 26 snapshots, its recent average sits in the mid thirties, and it charted in 27 countries on the most recent date. Short episodes and a dependable cadence are doing the work. It moved from an average US Science rank of #70 in the prior window to #34 in the recent one, appears in 23 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #28.
Best fit for: General science listeners, and brands that want frequent short host reads rather than one long mid-roll.
#15. Mystery Boys w/ Kurt Metzger & Duncan Trussell
Hosted by YMH Studios · US Comedy chart
About this show: Comedians Duncan Trussell and Kurt Metzger go looking for secrets and forbidden knowledge with, as the description puts it, the gleeful confidence of men who definitely, probably, might know what they are talking about. The feed holds 17 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A young YMH Studios feed that appears in 9 of our 26 snapshots and was absent from the chart across the prior window. It had slipped into the eighties by the most recent date, so the gain is early rather than settled. It was outside the US Comedy top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #65 across the recent window, appearing in 9 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #42.
Best fit for: Comedy listeners who follow the YMH network, and advertisers already buying across it.
#16. Primary Technology
Hosted by Stephen Robles and Jason Aten · US Technology chart
About this show: Stephen Robles and Jason Aten break down consumer tech, gadgets, and AI news every Thursday. Aten is a technology columnist at Inc.com. The feed holds 151 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: In 17 of our 26 snapshots and charting in 26 countries, which is wide for an independent two-host tech show. This is the same move it made in our technology-only ranking, so two separate cuts of the data agree on it. It moved from an average US Technology rank of #98 in the prior window to #62.5 in the recent one, appears in 17 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #45.
Best fit for: Consumer tech buyers, and hardware or software brands that want a weekly news slot.
#17. Plain English with Derek Thompson
Hosted by The Ringer · US News chart
About this show: Derek Thompson, described in the feed as a longtime writer on technology, culture, and politics, takes one big question per episode with new shows on Tuesdays and Fridays. The feed holds 401 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: In 23 of our 26 snapshots with a best rank of 23rd and a recent average of 40, built on two episodes a week. It was off the top 100 on the most recent date, so its recent average comes from two of the three recent snapshots. It moved from an average US News rank of #75.3 in the prior window to #40 in the recent one, appears in 23 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #23.
Best fit for: News and ideas listeners, and B2B brands that want an explainer environment.
#18. BTC Sessions
Hosted by Ben Perrin · US Technology chart
About this show: Ben Perrin's Bitcoin show, with weekly news roundups and a Why Are We Bullish panel featuring Bitcoiners from several countries. The feed holds 667 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A two-snapshot appearance, which is a few good weeks rather than a trend, and it had fallen into the eighties by the most recent date. The large back catalog says the show is not new; its chart presence is. It was outside the US Technology top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #66 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #48.
Best fit for: Bitcoin and crypto audiences, and exchange or hardware wallet brands.

Why it is moving in 2026: In 16 of our 26 snapshots, so this show charts often. The delta here reflects a return after it missed all three prior dates, not a first appearance, which is the difference between a comeback and a debut. It was outside the US Sports top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #66.5 across the recent window, appearing in 16 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #39.
Best fit for: Sports and culture crossover audiences, and brands buying against NBA and NFL attention.
#20. The American Idea
Hosted by Ashbrook Center · US Education chart
About this show: A production of the Ashbrook Center hosted by Dr. Jeff Sikkenga, on American history and founding principles and what they mean today. The feed holds 244 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A two-snapshot appearance that sat near the bottom of the top 100 on the most recent date. With a back catalog this size the show is clearly established; what is new is that it is charting at all. It was outside the US Education top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #67 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #47.
Best fit for: History and civics listeners, and education or university advertisers.

Why it is moving in 2026: In 7 of our 26 snapshots and charting in 18 countries, which is wider than most of the arrivals near it. It was absent across the prior window, so this is a return to the chart rather than a debut. It was outside the US Education top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #67.5 across the recent window, appearing in 7 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #25.
Best fit for: Executive coaching and personal development audiences, and brands selling coaching or learning products.
#22. A Podcast About Leadership
Hosted by AIIR Consulting · US Business chart
About this show: AIIR Consulting's interview show with leaders and leading thinkers on the skills and mindsets leaders need as work changes. The feed holds 15 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: The highest-placed business arrival in the set and also the thinnest: two snapshots, both near the bottom of the top 100, on a feed of 15 episodes. This belongs on a watchlist, not on a media plan. It was outside the US Business top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #67.5 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #66.
Best fit for: Leadership development and HR audiences, and B2B brands selling into people functions.
#23. The VPZD Show
Hosted by Drs. Vinay Prasad & Zubin Damania · US Science chart
About this show: Dr. Vinay Prasad and Dr. Zubin Damania, who each host their own shows, talk through medicine and public health arguments together. The feed holds 40 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: A two-snapshot appearance that was off the chart on the most recent date and reached no other country's top 100, which makes it the most fragile position in this top 25. We include it because the delta is real; we would not buy on it. It was outside the US Science top 100 across all three prior snapshot dates and averaged #67.5 across the recent window, appearing in 2 of our 26 snapshots overall with a best rank of #62.
Best fit for: Clinicians and health policy followers, and medical education advertisers.
#24. 2 Bears, 1 Cave with Tom Segura & Bert Kreischer
Hosted by YMH Studios · US Comedy chart
About this show: Comedian best friends Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer record in the bear cave at YMH Studios and, as the description has it, do what bears do. The feed holds 339 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: The most durable climb in comedy on this page: all 26 of our snapshots, a best rank of 17th, and a recent average in the high thirties. A show this established moving up 33 places is a bigger deal than a debut at the same number. It moved from an average US Comedy rank of #71.7 in the prior window to #38.7 in the recent one, appears in 26 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #17.
Best fit for: Mainstream comedy audiences, and consumer brands that want volume and a familiar host read.
#25. The Rest Is Politics: US
Hosted by Goalhanger · US News chart
About this show: Anthony Scaramucci, a former White House communications director, and Katty Kay, who has covered US politics for the BBC for close to 30 years, report on Washington and the wider US economy for Goalhanger. The feed holds 246 episodes.
Why it is moving in 2026: 25 of our 26 snapshots and 59 national charts on the most recent date, the widest reach of any news show in this set. The country count is where Goalhanger's network shows up in the data. It moved from an average US News rank of #77.7 in the prior window to #45.3 in the recent one, appears in 25 of our 26 snapshots, and its best rank in the period is #29.
Best fit for: Politics listeners on both sides of the Atlantic, and advertisers who want UK and US reach in a single buy.
New Podcasts Climbing the Charts 2026: the 26 Arrivals
26 of the 100 shows on this page were absent from their genre's top 100 on all three dates in the prior window. That label covers two different situations and conflating them is the most common mistake made with chart momentum data, so here they are separated. 18 shows appear on five or fewer of our 26 dates: these are genuinely new to the top 100 and have no chart record to speak of. 8 appear far more often and simply missed the prior window, which means the delta is measuring a recovery rather than a debut.
New to the top 100
Treat every row here as a first appearance. The Dr. John Delony Show is the strongest of them on recent standing at an average of #16, and I’m Not a Monster Presents… Where is Austin Tice? has the widest international footprint at 46 national charts, which is unusual this early.

Back in the top 100 after missing the prior window
These shows have chart history, so the gain is a recovery and the snapshot count tells you how established they are. Decoded | Unlock The Secrets of Human Behavior, Emotion and Motivation is the clearest case at 22 of 26 snapshots and a best rank of #6, which is not a debut by any reading.
| # | Show | Genre chart | Recent avg | Snapshots | Best rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | Decoded | Unlock The Secrets of Human Behavior, Emotion and Motivation | Health & Fitness | #36 | 22 of 26 | #6 |

The Climbers With a Floor Under Them
If you only act on one table on this page, make it this one. These are the shows that appear in at least 20 of our 26 snapshots and still moved up, which means the gain sits on top of a chart presence that was already there. 42 of the 100 qualify and 21 of them have cleared the top 100 on every single date we hold. Ranked by gain, the top 15 look like this.
| Show | Genre chart | Rank change | Recent avg | Snapshots | Countries |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Decoded | Unlock The Secrets of Human Behavior, Emotion and Motivation | Health & Fitness | Back in the top 100 | #36 | 22 of 26 | 1 |
| In The Dark | True Crime | Up 53.7 places | #33.3 | 24 of 26 | 76 |
| Heavyweight | Society & Culture | Up 48 places | #33.3 | 25 of 26 | 28 |
| Science Quickly | Science | Up 36 places | #34 | 23 of 26 | 27 |
| Plain English with Derek Thompson | News | Up 35.3 places | #40 | 23 of 26 | 4 |
| 2 Bears, 1 Cave with Tom Segura & Bert Kreischer | Comedy | Up 33 places | #38.7 | 26 of 26 | 19 |
| The Rest Is Politics: US | News | Up 32.3 places | #45.3 | 25 of 26 | 59 |
| The Nature Of with Willow Defebaugh | Science | Up 32 places | #57 | 22 of 26 | 22 |
| The Daily Show: Ears Edition | Comedy | Up 30.3 places | #24 | 26 of 26 | 40 |
| Bear Brook | True Crime | Up 30.3 places | #60.3 | 24 of 26 | 35 |
| Up and Vanished | True Crime | Up 27 places | #41 | 24 of 26 | 22 |
| The Last Invention | Technology | Up 27 places | #41.3 | 26 of 26 | 21 |
| The Pragmatic Engineer | Technology | Up 27 places | #65 | 26 of 26 | 63 |
| New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce | Sports | Up 25.7 places | #11 | 26 of 26 | 30 |
| The Right Time with Bomani Jones | Sports | Up 25.7 places | #29.3 | 25 of 26 | 4 |
The names at the top of this table are not the names at the top of the main ranking, and that gap is the point. In The Dark, Heavyweight, and Science Quickly all moved 30 places or more while charting in at least 23 of our 26 snapshots. You can plan a campaign around a show like that, because if it is in the top 100 today it was very likely in the top 100 last month too. You can follow a show in CastFox and see the next month of chart history before you commit to anything.
Fastest Growing Podcasts by Genre
Because we measured each chart separately, the number of climbers a genre contributes is itself a signal. We kept the 20 largest movers in each of the ten genres, then took the 100 largest gains overall, so a genre with more rows here is a genre where more shows managed a big move. Society & Culture and Health & Fitness lead with 13 and 13, and News contributes the fewest at 6.
| Genre chart | Climbers in the 100 | Biggest mover | Median gain | With 20+ snapshots | Arrivals |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Society & Culture | 13 | The Dr. John Delony Show (new to the top 100) | 25.8 places | 2 | 3 |
| Health & Fitness | 13 | Decoded | Unlock The Secrets of Human Behavior, Emotion and Motivation (back in the top 100) | 18.7 places | 6 | 3 |
| Sports | 13 | Sports Gambling Podcast (new to the top 100) | 25.3 places | 5 | 3 |
| Technology | 12 | Product Therapy (up 42.5 places) | 25.5 places | 7 | 2 |
| True Crime | 11 | Examined: The Backfire Effect (new to the top 100) | 18.3 places | 7 | 2 |
| Science | 10 | Science Quickly (up 36 places) | 24.7 places | 5 | 4 |
| Education | 8 | Building Champions for Life (new to the top 100) | 34 places | 1 | 5 |
| Comedy | 7 | Mystery Boys w/ Kurt Metzger & Duncan Trussell (back in the top 100) | 23.3 places | 5 | 1 |
| Business | 7 | A Podcast About Leadership (new to the top 100) | 20 places | 1 | 2 |
| News | 6 | Plain English with Derek Thompson (up 35.3 places) | 24.7 places | 3 | 1 |
Two patterns are worth naming. Education has the highest median gain in the table at 34 places but only 1 show with 20 or more snapshots, which describes a chart that turns over quickly: big moves, little persistence. Technology and True Crime are the opposite, with 7 of 12 and 7 of 11 climbers holding a long chart record. If you are buying on momentum, the second shape is the safer one. Our genre-level rankings go deeper on each of these: fastest growing tech podcasts, fastest growing comedy podcasts, fastest growing business podcasts, and fastest growing health podcasts.
What This Means for Advertisers, Guests, and Hosts
If you are buying ads
Rate cards lag the chart by months, which is the entire commercial argument for a list like this. The practical filter is the snapshot count: a show in 20 or more of our 26 dates that moved up is a show whose inventory is probably still priced on last quarter's position, while a two-snapshot debut is a show that may not be in the top 100 when your flight starts. Before you send a brief, check the show's own chart history and detected sponsors, because a feed that already runs ten competing ad reads is a different buy from one running none. Our vetting checklist and media buying guide cover the rest of that process, and CPM benchmarks by genre give you the pricing context this page deliberately does not.
If you are pitching yourself as a guest
A climbing show is the best guesting target in podcasting, because bookers at a show that just entered a top 100 are usually still reading their inbox. The 18 new arrivals in this set are the obvious place to start, and the interview formats among them are the ones to approach first. Shows in the middle of a documented climb, like the entries in the floor table above, take longer to reach but the appearance is worth more. You can build a target list from any of these shows in CastFox with the media list builder.
If you make a podcast
The most useful thing on this page for a host is the shape of the data rather than any single name. 21 of the 100 fastest growing shows appear in all 26 of our snapshots, which means the majority of real momentum in 2026 belongs to shows that were already charting and got better, not to breakout launches. The second useful fact is the seasonal one: sports feeds move as the NFL and NBA calendars move, and documentary feeds move when a season drops. If your category has a calendar, the chart will show it, and you can plan a launch against it.
Methodology: Where These Numbers Come From
CastFox captures the Apple Podcasts top 100 for every genre in 78 countries and stores each capture as a dated snapshot. This post uses the US charts for ten genres: society & culture, health & fitness, sports, technology, true crime, science, education, comedy, business, news. We hold 26 snapshots of each between February 24 and September 25, 2026. For each show we averaged its rank across the three most recent snapshots and across the three before them, ranked by the difference within its own genre, kept the 20 largest movers per genre, then merged the ten lists and took the 100 largest gains. 200 shows were considered and 174 of them had an upward move.
A show must appear on at least two of the three recent dates to be included. Shows missing from the top 100 across the entire prior window are labeled as outside the top 100 rather than assigned a rank, and we split that label into new to the top 100 and back in the top 100 based on how many of our 26 snapshots the show appears in. Where a show charts in more than one of the ten genres we keep its largest move and report the genre it came from.
Show details, including host names, episode counts, cadence, and subject matter, come from the podcast's own feed description and its CastFox profile. Where a description does not state a publishing cadence, we do not state one. Nothing on this page is a download estimate, an audience size, or a revenue figure, because Apple does not publish any of those and we do not model them into a chart post.
Three limitations are worth naming. First, the ten charts are different sizes in audience terms, so a 30-place move is not equally valuable in every row; the ranking compares shows to their own category. Second, snapshots are not taken at a perfectly even cadence, so the recent and prior windows span different numbers of calendar days. Third, 7 of the 100 shows were off the top 100 on the most recent date itself, which means their recent average is built from two of the three recent snapshots. Each of those is flagged on its card where it falls in the top 25. We treat every figure here as a direction rather than a measurement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which podcasts are growing the fastest in 2026?
Across 26 snapshots of ten US Apple Podcasts genre charts between February 24 and September 25, 2026, the largest upward moves belong to The Dr. John Delony Show on the Society and Culture chart, Building Champions for Life on Education, and Examined: The Backfire Effect on True Crime, each of which was outside its chart's top 100 across the whole prior window. Among shows that were already charting, the largest gains are In The Dark at 53.7 places, Heavyweight at 48, and Product Therapy at 42.5.
Which are the podcasts with the biggest chart gains this month?
In the three most recent CastFox snapshots, taken on September 25, September 19, September 8, 2026, the climbers with the strongest recent standing are The Ryen Russillo Show at an average rank of #8.7, The Thyroid (and Hormone) Fixer Podcast: Thyropause, Menopause, Metabolism and How to Fix It at an average rank of #10, New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce at an average rank of #11, The Binge Crimes: What Happened to the Harrisons? at an average rank of #13.7, The Dr. John Delony Show at an average rank of #16. Those are positions rather than gains, which is the more useful number if you are deciding where to spend: a show averaging inside the top 20 right now has the audience, whatever its delta says.
Are the fastest growing podcasts worth advertising on?
Often yes, because rate cards lag chart position by months, but the snapshot count decides it rather than the size of the gain. 42 of the 100 shows here appear in at least 20 of our 26 dates, and those are the ones where a climb is sitting on an established floor. A show with 2 of 26 snapshots has had a good fortnight and may be off the chart before a campaign starts. Nothing on this page is a download figure, so treat it as a shortlist to vet rather than a media plan.
Which fast-growing podcasts have the widest international reach?
Among the 100 climbers, In The Dark charted in 76 national top 100 charts on the most recent snapshot, Apple Events in 71, The Pragmatic Engineer in 63, The Rest Is Politics: US in 59, The Zach Lowe Show in 58, out of the 78 countries CastFox tracks. At the other end, 24 of the 100 charted in one country or none, which makes them US-only buys.
Which genre is producing the most climbers in 2026?
Society & Culture, Health & Fitness, and Sports each contribute 13 of the 100, ahead of Technology at 12 and True Crime at 11. News contributes the fewest at 6. Persistence is distributed differently from movement: Technology and True Crime have the most climbers with 20 or more snapshots behind them, while Education has the highest median gain and the least chart history.
How is this list ranked?
We average each show's rank on its US Apple genre chart across the three most recent CastFox snapshots and across the three snapshots before them, then rank by the difference, largest first. We do that separately for ten genres, keep the 20 largest movers in each, and merge. A show absent from the top 100 in the prior window is treated as outside the top 100 rather than given a rank, and labeled new to the top 100 or back in the top 100 depending on its overall snapshot count. All of the underlying chart data comes from CastFox.
